Before there was Fred Emney, there was Fred Emney. The pop-picker’s father was a famous music hall comedian, best known for his sketch ‘A Sister to Assist ‘Er’. Like George Formby, Emney junior began his career by taking over his father’s act, including the sketches. However, here is Emney senior.

In May 1966, ABC Television celebrated 10 years of television in the north of England with a special edition of The Eamonn Andrews Show live from the Hotel Piccadilly (site of Simon Dee’s ramp).
